Building a stronger community, one life at a time

Together they form a powerful team that is building a stronger, safer community for all of us.

Did you know that more than 200 volunteers lead our Community Investment process? Or that we rely on thousands of volunteers to run a successful fundraising campaign?

Volunteers are the heart of United Way of Forsyth County. They lead every aspect of the organization from Board of Directors governance, to financial accountability, to our community investment programs. UWFC supporters also give their time on the front lines of service delivery though our partner organizations.

Volunteer support is an essential part of the United Way experience, and volunteers of all walks of life are needed to make Forsyth County a better place to live and work. It’s all a part of the powerful movement we call LIVE UNITED.

Sue and Danny Vandiver are two of the over 1,400 Forsyth County residents who have secured live-saving medications valued at more than $3 million for free from pharmaceutical companies through Med-Aid, a United Way-funded initiative. Click on the photograph to view their story.
